Wellness is largely influenced by our diet (80%) and exercise (20%). We are what we eat, but our mood also impacts our level of mindfulness and our food choices. Emotional eaters may overeat or eat too little when stressed. We are what we eat, but we store more in our bodies than just the nutrients of our food. A human body can store stress, toxins, emotional trauma, anger and/or an electric charge, which can create a shock and even a visible spark when touching a grounded object!
We may hold stress in our shoulders or contribute to stiff necks and back pain in our default, unaligned, sunken postures. During the practice of yoga poses and movement sequences, we begin to unravel tension in our muscles and this can also release the associated emotions. People may laugh or even cry during a yoga class. When we carry pain in our body, it impacts our life significantly. Yoga strengthens our physical, mental, emotional and energetic body, which increases our capacity to process difficult emotions and release past trauma’s.
Often we find ourselves stuck in fear, instead of living our best lives. We may wonder if we truly deserve the best or if we can maintain vibrating on a higher frequency. Therefore building our positive habits consistently over a longer period of time will bring solid results in a sustainable manner.
How do we breakthrough? How can we be filled with a sense of joy, lightness, harmony and balance in order to effectively be part of the solution to the challenges in our lives?
