Tukul village Lalibela

Opened in 2007, Tukul Village is located just a 10-15 minute walk downhill from most of the major rock-hewn churches and consists of twelve red sandstone Tukul huts, each topped with a thatched roof and split into two storeys, offering 24 en suite rooms. The hotel is well-known for its concepted architecture, which is a replica of the two-story traditional tukuls unique for Lalibela. Previous guests call it Too Cool Village!
The living spaces are simple, well-kept and spacious, with comfortable beds and plenty of natural light pouring through the door-to-ceiling windows on one side. All have their own balconies, with soothing views towards St. George’s Church and the local market. The titled bathrooms are clean, modern and timeless.
The compound is leafy and breezy, very comfortable to enjoy a meal, a drink or read! The kitchen offers delicious European and Ethiopian meals. The personnel warm and friendly.
