Produced by Whiz Kids Workshop, The Tibeb Girls is a program about three young girls who use their superpowers to fight injustice and harmful practices towards girls in Africa.
About 10 years ago, in a remote, rural town of Wolayita, Ethiopia, the founder of Whiz Kids, Brukty, and her team were training young girls about why it’s important to stand up against early child marriage.
Three fearless young girls had the courage to break the community’s code of silence and tell the Whiz Kids team about a friend who was about to be forced to marry and lose her innocence. In collaboration with key community members, they rescued the young girl. These three brave hearts became the original Tibeb Girls because they stood up for what’s right.
In the world of the Tibeb Girls, Fikir is known for her empathy! She is their compassionate leader who’s always there to help you sort through emotions and lend a caring hand. A gentle spirit with a heart full of empathy. Her telepathic powers create a deep bond, as she listens to your thoughts and understands your emotions with kindness.
Then there is Fitih; she is fearless and strong and she leads others on the path to justice. With her ability to fly, she soars above obstacles, fighting for what is right.
Last but not least there is Tigist. She is a master of patience and intellect; she possesses remarkable analytical skills. With her power to halt time, she swiftly dissects information, unraveling mysteries with precision.
