NFT Marketplace for Contemporary African Artist

QkweQkwe (pronounced KweKwe) is the first authentic NFT marketplace built by Africans for African artists. It is a virtual marketplace where these artists can exhibit and sell their work to a global audience. QkweQkwe.io will launch on 22 February 2022 with a group show entitled Multiplixation, featuring eighteen artists from four African countries including Angola, Ethiopia, Kenya and South Africa.
The exhibition will be a first of its kind where the work of the selected African Artists will be showcased by turning their art into NFTs with enticing unlockable content. All works on sale will be rare, unique and specifically developed for the launch exhibition. The works will be on auction until the end of March 2022.
An NFT is a one-of-a-kind digital asset that acts as a certificate of ownership for virtual items. NFT stands for non-fungible token. Most NFTs are registered and secured by the Ethereum blockchain and can consist of many kinds of digital end-products, from jpegs and gifs to Mp4s and other digital files. QkweQkwe (pronounced KweKwe) is setting the stage for African artists to join in exhibiting and selling their work as NFTs to a global market.
