Ethiopian beauty secrets – home made face masks

There are plenty of facial treatments that use ingredients that you can source locally and are cheap to buy. In addition to being natural, they are also very easy to make. These treatments can give you beautiful clear and glowing skin.
Cucumber and Honey Mask
You will need 1 cucumber and 2 teaspoons of honey. Cucumber and your skin contain the same level of hydrogen, cucumbers can therefore help cover blemishes on your skin. They are also very cooling, which can help soothe and soften your skin. Honey, which is antibacterial, can treat and prevent acne. It also has antioxidants to help slow aging. Plus, it is moisturizing and can help your skin be soft and glowing. It is one of the best things for skin, which is why you find honey in many skin treatments.
Directions: Puree the cucumber in a blender, then collect the juice. Mix in the honey. Apply the mask onto your face and neck. Rinse off once it has air dried. You can store the remaining in the fridge for up to a week.
Banana Yogurt and Honey Mask
You will need 1 banana, ¼ cup plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons of honey. Bananas moisturize your skin, help skin look younger and contain nutrients like vitamin C and B6, which helps skin retain its elasticity. They also have antioxidants and manganese that combat again the degenerative effects of aging. Yogurt has lactic acid which exfoliates the top layer of the skin effective in clearing up blemishes and reducing wrinkles.
Directions: Mash the banana and combine it with the other ingredients. Apply the mixture all over your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Remove the mask with cold water and gently pat dry.
Oatmeal, Yogurt, Honey, and Egg White Mask
You will need ⅓ cup oatmeal and ½ cup of hot water, 2 tablespoons of yogurt and honey, 1 egg white. Oatmeal is an age old trick for beautiful skin, dating back to the Ancient Egyptians. It helps treat acne and fights dryness and itchiness. Egg whites contain proteins that fight acne, lines, wrinkles and dry skin.
