Employment Which Helps The Environment

Eshetu Ambo, 23, is a resident of Arsi Negelle and is a member of an association engaged in plastic waste collection and recycling established through NCA Ethiopia in 2022. He also serves as a cashier in the association. Before becoming part of the “Waste for Value” initiative, Eshetu, who now collects more than 100 kilograms of plastic a day, was unemployed and had to depend on his parents to meet his needs.

Eshetu says he is now not only self-sufficient and is able to give back to his family but is also an active contributor to a cleaner environment.
