Mieraf Girum is a multidisciplinary artist, teacher and culture enthusiast who gained a profound appreciation for visual storytelling during her journey following her passion for artistic expression.
Eager to embark on an exciting new chapter, Mieraf created a second children’s coloring book, merging her love of art and culture to bring the joy and wonder of art to young minds, igniting their imagination and curiosity as they are transported to different worlds and times.
This book was prepared specifically with Ethiopian children in mind to capture the interest of the younger generation through relatable images from their own environment and history while encouraging their artistic expression.
The storyline revolves around a child who has a passion for drawing. Using common experiences of challenges in exercising artistic talent, the book serves as a reminder for parents and society to appreciate and support the artistic abilities of children.
The book was launched on May 19 2024 at the Fenidka Cultural Center in Kazanchis. At this event, Mieraf’s previous coloring book based on Ethiopian traditional clothing was also available.
