Body Butters and Lotions for Body Care

Our skin protects us from microbes and foreign elements that can cause damage to the body. It regulates and permits the sensation of touch, heat, and cold. This important organ needs protection and care. Besides other factors like diet, exercise and medical conditions, skincare products are the primary supportive ways to keep skin healthy and supple.

The use of skin care products depends on the body part that they are used for. Most of us pay special and the most attention to facial skin but body skin needs care too.

Depending on the skin type and condition, skincare must be applied daily after a shower or cleansing. A variety of skincare products like butters, creams and lotions are all used to maintain the health of skin. Body butter does not contain water whereas lotions are water-based. It is possible to use both lotion and butter, but factors such as skin type, skin condition, the season and your age must also be considered whether to use body butter or lotion. Lotions are lighter and less oily than body butter and suitable for oily skin. On the other hand, body butter is ideal for dry and aged skin.

Butters and lotions are made up from these components; humectant sucks water from the air and into your skin; occlusive helps to seal in that moisture; improve your skin so that it can replenish itself.

Lotions can be used frequently  and should be reapplied after washing which helps keep the skin smooth and soft.
