Degnet Humanitrian Orgiansation – Profile

Degnet humanitarian Organization is an indigenous, non-partisan, non-governmental and secular organization established in 2008 by a group of philanthropists and devoted Ethiopians.  The word Degnet means Kindness in English.  Kindness is defined as the strength to do good for others.

Kindness is an inner desire that makes us want to do good things, even if we do not get anything in return. It is the Joy we receive that drives these simple acts. When we perform acts of kindness, driven solely by an insatiable desire to love one another, there is kindness in everything we think, say and do.

We believed that building children by helping them to grow intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially; by fulfilling their needs as they gain an education and discover their talents; by giving them the tools to take control of their own futures, they will grow up and change their world. Degnet Humanitarian nurtures the children in the skills and qualities they need to be successful in school and in life. Kindness is a power or habit directly infused into our soul by God.

Degnet Humanitarian beginnings are rooted in the pursuit of Community interest, care and support for underprivileged, and promotion of community development through empowerment of women and youth groups.    The Organization was established with the recognition to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged children through holistic education, nutrition, healthcare, love and emotional stability.

Degnet Humanitarian is a holistic support day care center where children receive various services. At present, the organization is operational in Addis Ababa regional Kirkos sub city in all the Weredas. There are 350 beneficiaries among which 52 are identified most needy children, 52 foster parents, 30 youth group, and 216 outreach students.
