We strictly demarcate the world of humans and animals. Every creature, except man we call an animal.
But is it possible for those beings to feel the emotions we consider us humans are only endowed to? Is it likely for animals to display expressions of anger, excitement or even affection?
I’m not some sort of Darwinian guru nor am I a zoology expert, but after encountering some animals with human like expressions, I started looking at them closely and the results I found are surprising. Here is a picture of two monkeys I photographed in Axum back in 2018.
Yes, it looks like an engagement is happening right there. The way it held the other one’s fingers and also the expression on her face seems like he asked for her hand in marriage and she said yes.
